Footnote in competition for the Palme d'Or
The Israeli film, Footnote has been scheduled to premiere in competition at Cannes Film Festival 2011. Its full post production was made at the Hungarian Filmlab. The impressive pictures and the entire workout of the feature reflect the talent of the director, Joseph Cedar and the director of photography, Yaron Scharf. The film’s DI colorist and film grader was our colleague, Szabolcs Barta.
Footnote deals with admiration, envy and vanity, that leads the two Talmud scholar university professors, father and son to an insane competition. Cedar’s previous feature, Beaufort – the post production of which was also fully completed at the Hungarian Filmlab – won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin Film Festival in 2007 and was later on nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
We are going to keep an eye on it and wish good luck for Footnote at the Cannes Film Festival between the 11th and 20th of May 2011!
